Parish Councillors needed

Grantley and Sawley Parish Council Parish Councillors needed

Grantley Ward

Your Parish Council Needs You.

There are two vacant seats on the Parish Council for the Grantley Ward.

Do you wish to help shape our community in Grantley?

By becoming a parish councilor, you become someone your community will look to for help, guidance and support.

You will be a community leader with the power to influence decisions for the benefit of the people you serve.

The Parish Council makes all kinds of decisions on issues that affect our community - planning matters, crime prevention, managing open spaces and campaigning for and delivering better services and facilities.

The Parish Council has the ability to negotiate with, and the power to influence, those other organisations that do make the final decisions (such as the borough council, health authorities, police etc).

The organisations that make the final decisions know that the Parish Council gives the best reflection of how a community feels about something, and its views will be taken seriously.

The Parish Council usually meet 6 times a year with special, extra, planning meetings when necessary (but these are rare). It’s not going to take over your life.

If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councilor, please call Martin Kirbitson (Chairman) 01765 620318 or contact the Clerk via the contact page.
